一、教学内容

1.教材内容：

本节课介绍中国著名的农业科学家袁隆平的生平和他的杂交水稻。第一段描述了袁博士的外表——他更象一个农民而不象一个科学家，农村就是他做科研的殿堂。他的科研成果就是超级杂交水稻。

第二段描述他的家庭出身，学业，献身水稻科研的原因及所取得的成就。第三段告诉我们袁博士过着跟普通人一样的生活却干着伟大的事业。即使在功成名就之后，他也淡泊名利, 有着无私奉献的高尚精神。第四段描述了他的两个0+ 2．地位作用

本节课是本单元的第二节课。第一节课学生已经学习了单词和短语，处理完

warming up 部分内容，了解了work the land 一些相关知识。为本节阅读课扫清障碍。本节阅读课是本单元的重点内容。通过本节课学生强化了第一单元人物写作，也更加了解袁隆平，通过学习他的事迹，启发学生拥有自己的梦想的重要性。希望学生能懂得珍异粮食，养成不浪费粮食的好习惯。

七、教学过程

Step I

Lead in

1).look at the PPT2 and tell the name of each grain. 2).answer a question: what is the main food in South Asian and Southeast Asian countries? 3).Read the statistics and tell a reason. 4).Think about a question if there was no rice to eat, what would happen. Step II

Reading

1.Fast reading: Read the passage quickly and find the main idea of each paragraph. 2. Careful reading 1)Read the first paragraph after the tape. And complete the sentences. 2)Read the second paragraph and put Yuan’s biography in right order and deal with a difficult sentence on the Bb. And find out the figures in the first two paragraghs. 3) Scan the third paragraph, and find which sentence is not true. And find out what are Yuan’s hobbies.

4)Read the last paragraph loudly together and find out his two dreams. Step III .Consolidation

Fill in the form of the resume of Yuan Longping.
