Teaching procedures: Step 1

Activity 1: Show students some situations using the form of Verb-ing in daily life. Activity 2: Guessing the answers of some multiple-choices. The teacher presents some multiple-choices about the Verb-ing grammar to students. Check the answers and observe the form of each verb. Find out the form of verbs in different sentences. Step 3

Activity 3: Learn about the use of Verb-ing as subject and object. (Group Work) Students discuss the similarity of the sentences on the screen and make sure of their meanings. The teacher guides students to draw a conclusion about the basic rules.

Do the exercises to apply the rules Activity 4: Learn more about the use of Verb-ing as predicative, attribute and present participle. The teacher shows students some sentences with Verb-ing form as predicative, attribute and present participle. (Group Work) Students finish some exercise referring to tips, and find out the rules. Step 4

Activity 5: Output of the knowledge: Introduce yourselves. Get students to read a sample first and have a imitative writing. Encourage students to use Verb-ing forms as much as possible. Share the work with the whole class. I am a teacher. Teaching English is my job every day. I enjoy working with my students together. It makes me full of energy all day.
