Analysis of the Teaching Material:

In this lesson students will learn the usage of ‘Does... like...? The key point of the lesson is the usage of ‘like doing’ ,the topic of the lesson is sport.

The analysis of the students: Students of Grade Five have developed a certain habit of learning English, and have the ability of language imitation, listening ability and English thinking ability. At the same time, they also develop the ability of autonomous learning, and can cooperate with others to learn and help each other.Under the guidance of certain learning strategies, they can guess and read simple words and sentences, and further understand the gist of the passage.Through the use of vivid teaching methods, to stimulate students interest in learning at the same time, try to create more opportunities to let students ‘speak’, so that students will get a sense of achievement enhance self-confidence.

Students can read the text and understand the content of the text,understand and master the following sentence patterns:

Teaching Aids: PPT, pictures, tapes, etc.

Competition Mechanism: Group 1,Group 2,Group 3,

Group 4& Group 5 are competition.

Teaching Steps: Step1.Greetings Step2. Warming up T shows some pictures about sports and asks them some questions. Questions: What’s Ann doing? Do you like flying a kite? What is he doing? Step3. Leading in We know Jim is swimming, but , does Jim like swimming? Today, we will learn a new lesson: Lesson4 Does Jim like swimming? Lead to the title and write it on the blackboard. At the same time, students read the title following teacher. Step4. Presentation 1.Review sentence patterns . The teacher shows some pictures about sports and ask some questions. 1.The teacher asks, students answer. 2.Boys ask, girls answer.

3.One asks and the others answer.

2.Lead to the text Part 1: The teacher leads to the text through Jim’s picture and question.

Question: Does Jim like sports?Let students listen to the tape and answer this question. Then read the text following the tape. Finally, students read the text by themselves. Part 2:Listen to the tape and answer this question: does Jim like ball games? Then read the text following the tape. Finally, students read the text in roles. Step5. Drill

1.Ask and answer:Does Tom like ball games,too? Do you like ball games, too? Teacher asks, students answer. 2.Read the whole text together.

3.Let two or three student read this text. 4.Fill in the blanks.

5.Follow the text and make up a dialogue.(Teacher shows a student’s picture.) 6.T shows a student’s picture and ask some questions.

7. Do action about sports. Teacher asks and students answer. Step6. Sing a song A butterfly is flying in the garden, teacher let students sing a song 'fly,fly the, butterfly '.

Step7. Homework

Does your father/mother like sports? Ask your parents after school and show us your answers next class.
