Be able to understand and read the conversation of “let’s talk”

Be able to use the sentence”Before,I/he/she was….Now, I/he/she am/is….”from appearance,character,hobby and skill.

Key points and difficulties: Key point:Be able to understand and read the conversation fluently. Difficulty: Be able to use the correct tense to describe changes in sb. Teaching aids: PPT, Changyan ,blackboard

Teaching procedure: Step1.Warm-up. 1.

Greetings. 2.

Review.

Step2.Lead in. 1.

Present an old photo ,lead students to guess whose photo it is.Then ask ss to compare the two photos, and say something different about the photos. 2.

Talk about other famous people’s changes ,lead ss to know today’s topic is “change” in people.

Step3.Presentation. 1.

Do a listening practice about “let’s try”,and ask ss to finish the task of “Let’s try”.

Ask ss to repeat the dialogue between Mike and Chen Jie. 3.

Learn the conversation of “Let’s talk”.

(1).Students listen to the recording for the first time, then tell others what’s the conversation about.

(2).Ask students to find the changes in John from the past to the present,and lead them to describe the changes using”Before, he …,now he….(pay attention to the verbs of different tenses)

(3).Students listen to the recording for the second time,and find the answer to “How did Mike change?”(Give students a hint.)

(4).Check the answer,and ask students to read after the recording,at the same time,teacher helps ss to understand the key points and difficults.

(5).Students read after the teacher for two times. (6).Students read it in groups, and then teacher asks some groups to role play the conversation. Step4.Consolidation and Extension. 1.

Show two different photos of a little girl, ask students to talk about her changes using “Before,she …,now,she ….”

Students talk about themselves with their partners,then ask some students to describe their changes. Step5.Summary. Step6.Emotional eduation. Ask students to watch a video,and help them to understand that :No matter how we change,the love from our mother will never change.So please love our mother. Step7.Homework. 1.

Read the conversation and try to remember the key sentences. 2.

Write about changes in your family members.
