教学意图

This is the third teaching period of this unit. The key point of this period will be placed on the important words, expressions and sentence patterns in the reading text. In this period, the teacher will provide students with some related exercise in order to make students master the usage of those key words and expressions. In doing so, students can learn and use these important language points well.

知识目标

1.

Enable students to grasp the usages of such importatnt words and expressions as: go by, as a result, goal, provide, etc. 2.

Get students to mater the following patterns: “... it took nearly two hundred years before I was built as an ...”

“As time went by, I was made smaller. ”

before 引导一个时间状语从句



before本意为“在…之前”，但有时也表示“…之后才…” “…之后就…”



“It took/was+一段时间+before…”或

“It takes/will be+一段时间+before…”

是一个固定句型,意为

“多久才……”。

as在此作连词，引导时间状从，表示

“伴随、随着”。

[Conclusion] 表示“随着……” 除了用as, 还可以用with, 但是with是介词，所以其后一般不加句子。（with+ n./pron. + adj / adv /介词短语）

so…that… “如此…以至于…”，引导结果状从。
