Reading material analysis: First Aid for Burns is a passage taken from a book called First Aid for the Family. It is organized under headings, which makes it easy for students to understand. It contains five parts: the functions of the skin, causes of burns, types of burns, characteristics of burns and first aid treatment. Since the purpose of this passage is to offer the students knowledge of burns and let them know how to perform first aid, the key point of my teaching will mainly focus on the last three parts. Students analysis: The English level of the students may not be good. I will try to make it easy for the students to understand the reading material. By offering scaffold step by step, by the end of this class, the students will be able to use English to describe different types of burns and perform first aid for burns.
