What Time Is It?

本单元设计意图:这一单元的话题主要是关于时间的表达。学生通过这一单元的学习,能够就时间这一话题进行交流,并能运用到现实生活中。数字和句型It’s…在前册中已学过,本课重在综合运用。

本单元学习目标
语言知识目标:学生能熟练地用英语问答(整点和半点的)具体时间,以及询问在不同的时间所做的事情并进行回答。
语言技能目标:引导学生积极参与课堂教学活动,指导学生熟练运用本课所学的语言和知识进行日常交际活动,形成综合运用语言的能力
情感态度目标:提高学生学习英语的兴趣和自信心,培养学生善于与他人合作的精神,他们积极主动参与课堂活动和相关的课外活动,并从中体验学习的乐趣。同时,通过本课的学习,培养学生珍惜时间、热爱生活以及形成良好的生活习惯。
学习策略目标:鼓励学生养成动脑、动手、动口的好习惯,并且通过活动,培养学生善于与他人合作,从而体验学习英语的乐趣。

Unit 6: What time is it?
Period 1 一、Teaching Aims:
1. Knowledge aims:
①Four-skill words:seventeen, eighteen, nineteen,twenty, thirty,thirty-one
Structures:What time is it?
It’s …… .
It’s time to…… .
②Three-skill words: forty,fifty,sixty,time,sleep, light, get up,turn off. ③Two-skill: It’s late.
2. Ability aims: By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to:
①According to the rules,the Ss try to speak and write the words “seventeen, eighteen, nineteen,( twenty, thirty,)thirty-one ②Use the structures like “What time is it?”, “It’s ……”, “It’s time to……”to talk about the time in the clock. ③ Use the structures“It’s time to……”to make up some sentences.
3. Focus of the lesson: ①Ss can make up an easy dialog to ask and answer the time; ②Role playing the dialog with the right pronunciation and intonation. 4.Predicted area of difficulty: ①The pronunciation of “twenty, thirty”and spell;
②The difference between thirteen and thirty,and so on. 5. Emotion aims:Tell the Ss to cherish the time and the time should be made good use of. 二、Teaching methods: Task-based teaching approach, TPR, Situational language teaching

(让孩子们从一数到十这步可不要,和下一步数班里人数有些重复)
设计意图:歌曲导入,使学生很快融入到英语学习的氛围,歌曲中涉及到数字,为下面学习新的十几以及几十的数字做铺垫。

T:(Point to the next one)What’s the next number?
Seventeen.(板书)
Read and spell the word.In the same way,try to speak and write the words until nineteen.Write these three words on the blackboard(板书) and find the rule. Then Ss read them for revision.(T writes down “een”, let Ss spell “eight”, T writes down “teen”, let Ss spell “ nine”.加深对18,19的记忆,复习拼写8和9)
Continue to say the numbers until nineteen,they can learn “twenty”(板书),try to say the next number. S2:Twenty-one(板书) Ss say the numbers from twenty-one to twenty-nine,learn the next number “thirty”(板书)……forty(板书)……fifty(板书)……say“六十”(板书). Then try to find the rule and read them for revision.(由PPT直接出示30,40,50,60,把ty重点标出即可)
The teacher says some numbers,Ss write them on the exercise book. 设计意图:由歌曲导入引出数字,简单自然;让学生试着拼说读写数字单词,总结规律,加深记忆,又培养了学生勤于动脑思考的学习习惯;最后让学生把总结出的数字规律学以致用,避免眼高手低。

Ss:表. T:Clock.(板书).Ss read the word.
PPT:Show some clocks,and say the time.Teacher says the first one: It’s two(o’clock),ask others to say the second and the third,when they say the fourth one, T:Who can ask? S: What time is it? T:You can also say :What’s the time? 2:00 two(o’clock)

设计意图:时间的学习由整点时间过渡到半点时间,学生自己发现除整点时间之外的表达法,教学活动由易到难,并且运用课件展示,为学生提供大量的语言材料,让学生充分地练习好句型,学生能力在不知不觉中逐渐得到培养和提高。此外,由于机械地句型操练,容易使学生产生厌烦的情绪,所以本环节中将句型操练融入到chant中,让学生在没有压力的状态下,顺利完成学习任务。
5.PPT:Show a clock T:What time is it?
Ss: It’s seven o’clock.
T:It’s late.(Do the action)It’s time to get up.(板书). Ss read the sentence one by one. PPT: Show a clock,(the light is on) T:What time is it?
Ss: It’s ten thirty..
T:It’s late. It’ s time to sleep,(Teacher does the action ,Ss learn and read, let Ss say sentences “It’ s time to…). T:I want to sleep, but the light is on, what should we do? Ss:关灯。Learn the sentence: Turn off the light.(可以扩充eg: turn on/ off the TV , turn on/ off the computer…)
设计意图:由问答具体时间过渡到学习如何表述是做某事的时间了,教师通过肢体语言辅助教学,加深学生记忆。

设计意图:通过一个小动画,把所学习的关于时间的句型融入到动画当中,学生很感兴趣,第一遍学生从欣赏的角度去看,第二遍带着问题去看,每一遍都有所收获. StepIV: Consolidation. 1.
