I．Analysis of teaching material The topic of this unit is“Working the Land”，and the language knowledge and skills of this unit focus on this topic. This reading class“A Pioneer For All People”is the core of this unit，a biography of the father of super hybrid “Yuan Longping”. Students will know more about the qualities and achievements of him through this class. II．Analysis of students As high school students in grade one second term，they acquire basic reading skills, however, there is still a great gap in reading ability among them. Besides, they are not familiar with the agricultural topic.

So we should create the activities on different levels according to the situation of the students, combining difficult level with easy one to guide students to master reading skills.
