Step1.Warming up 1. Free talk:

they did last weekend to review the vocabulary and sentences of Chapter 3 so that lay a fundament to teach new knowledge. ①

What did you do last week?

Was \Were you cook a meal? 2.Ask when the activities are, review the ordinary words and lead in the title “In the holidays”

Step2 .Lead-in

At the weekend, what do you want to do? Did you enjoy you winter holiday or weekend? Step 3. Presentation

1. Revise the past tense form of regular verbs. Remind pupils that we have to change the verb form to the past tense when we talk

about something that happened before now.

Write some verbs on the board and ask pupils to tell you the past tense forms. They

should all be verbs that take the –ed ending 反思:

in the past tense. e.g. cook , plant, watch, boil, clean, paint, wash. 2. Teach the vocabulary using the flash cards. Put the flash cards on the board and teach the present tense form of the verbs first. 3. Teach the past tense form of the irregular verbs. Ask pupils to read what Mary said on page 20 of the Pupil’s Book. 4. Ask pupils questions to set the context. Accept all reasonable answers from pupils. Write them on the board in the present tense. Then teach them the past tense forms. 5. Ask pupils to look at the list of verbs on the other flash cards. Help pupils make past tense sentences about the activities

and uncover the past tense verb forms on the flash cards. 6. Read the sample conversation in part A. Step4: play a game

Teachers say the words, students say the past tense. Try to write down the past tense verb forms on the exercise book.

Step 5. Practice
