Teaching Procedure of Using Language (Unit 2) 1.

Warming up I will show a short video to students to attract their attention. This period need about 2 minutes. After that, several pictures will be showed to introduce the main functions. For example, the robots used for adventure, war, cleaning and so on. 2.

Listening

Turn to Page55 and do the practice. This part is used for introduce the topic and the following key elements to students: the height, appearance, ability and price. Then, I will use lead in the topic: robot and directly enter into the text. 3.

Reading Because this is the using language part, it aims to help the students to use language and write down their own ideas. In this reading part, the time will be limited. And the procedure will be very short. Firstly, we will play a game. It is named “Punch golden eggs”. There are six golden eggs in this picture. Each of them has one question in it. For example, if you punch the first egg, you need to find out the name and appearance of Andy.

This game is designed to ask students to find out the clues and know this robot better. After this reading part, the atmosphere will be

active and students will understand the main idea of this text. Besides, some useful words and phrases will be pointed out and explained. All of them will be useful in the last part.

Writing and speaking After the above parts, students have get all information and useful expressions. So they will be given a task. That is to design their own robot and introduce in front of all of us. Their introduction should include the elements: name, appearance, ability, character and so on.

Students should try their best to use all key words and phrases. And then they will be asked to speak out the winner’s name.
