Enjoy a song named Love sung by John Lennon and

especially pay attention to the blanks including the –ing forms. Step 2. Lead-in: Have you seen these signs before? No parking any time (is allowed here.) No spitting (is allowed here.) No littering (is allowed here.) No smoking (is allowed here.) Step 3. Presentation 1

1. Give Ss some sentences of the –ing forms which include the –ing forms to be subject. Then let them discuss with their group members what the sentences have in common. Then let them share their ideas.

2. It is no use doing sth.

做… 是没有用的。

It is pleasant doing sth.

做…是有乐趣的。

It is a waste of time doing sth.

做…是浪费时间的。

Fill in the blanks according to some pictures.

Practice. Ask students to talk about their hobbies or interests by using the following sentence patterns.

Doing…is/makes/gives/bring me…

So…is my hobby/dream/what I like most.

Step 5. Presentation 2 Task1.

Show some verbs which can be only followed by v-ing forms, then correct the mistakes. 1.

Task 2.

Give the definition of the –ing form to be the object after a preposition, then fill in the blank of each sentence according to the definition and pictures. 1.

He was tired of ___________ online, so he went asleep. （chat）

4.

Step 6. Practice 1.

Describe one of your classmates by using several sentences including at least 3sentences using the –ing forms we’ve learned today to. Write down a short passage below, and other students will guess who he/she is. Then share their ideas.
