Step1. Warm-up Show some pictures about sports.Please talk about the sport you like best, and what you did yesterday，and how often you play it. Ask and answer.

What’s your favourite sport? Ping-pang. I often play ping-pang. Did you play it yesterday? Yes. I played ping-pang after school yesterday. Focus on the past tense. How often do you play it? I play it twice a week. Talk about the pictures,review the words:light,heavy,difficult,easy. Step 2. Presentation 1.. Read the conversation on Page8. Then answer the questions.

Where did Li Ming and Jenny go? They went to a shop. What did Li Ming buy? He bought a T-shirt. Did they play ping-pong? Yes, they did. What did Li Ming teach Jenny to do? He taught Jenny to hit the ball. Did Danny learn to play basketball? Yes, he did.

Did Danny play basketball with a ping-pong ball? Yes, he did.

2.Talk about the pictures, underline and learn these words: player, thought, review the words: went, bought, played, taught, hit, wanted, did, thought, was, could. 3. Play the recording, read and repeat the conversation on page8.

Read it in roles. Then read it together. 4.Explain and read part 2. 5.listen to the song twice ,sing after it. Step 3. Drills 1. Listen to the conversations on Page8 again and check the words you hear. played
