Lesson 3 : How Much Is It ? Period 1 一、Teaching Aims: 1. Knowledge aims: ① Four-skill words: pineapple , watermelon , orange , pear , apple ② Three-skill words: dollar , help, Can I help you? ③ Key structures:How much? 2. Ability aims:

By the end of the lesson, the students should be able to: 1. get to know the meaning of “Can I help you?” both in spoken and written forms, and pronounce it clearly; 2. guess the meaning of the word “dollar” from the dialogue; 3. use the words “pineapple , watermelon , orange , pear , apple” both in speaking and writing; 4. use structures “How much? It’s…”to talk about the price in English. 3. Focus of the lesson: 1. understanding the dialogue as a whole; 2. role playing the dialogue with the right pronunciation, intonation and sentence stress. “How much? Can I help you?”

4.Predicted area of difficulty: 1.Students can distinguish “How much?” and “How many?”

2. The pronunciation of “pineapple , watermelon , orange , pear , apple”; 3. The meaning and usage of some expressions about shopping, such as “Can I help you?”

Step I : Revision Show the fruit pictures (apple ,banana and orange ) StepII : Presentation 1.(ppt1) pine+apple=pineapple bear---pear water+melon=watermelon 2. Learn to read the new words. StepIII: Practise 1. (ppt2) 10dollars / a pineapple 2 dollars / a pear 8 dollars / a watermelon 1 dollar / an apple

1 dollar /a banana 3 dollars / an orange T: 3 pineapples=How much ? S1:30 dollars. 2.Ss ask and answer like it ,then check some pairs. 3.T: Look at ppt. Give some situations to practice. (ppt3) Check some students. S1: a pineapple + a pear = How much ? S2:12 dollars .

S3: 2 watermelons + 4 pears =How much ? S4: 24 dollars . S5…S6…

六、Teaching reflection 本节课讲的是第三课第一课时,开始设计以实物橘子引入,然后不同方式呈现单词!中间采用Missing Game 来带动学生的积极性,并且熟记单词!之后采用对话练习的方式,加强句型的巩固!但是How much is it?/How much are they? 句型有点复杂,所以学生领会的不太充分,学生只愿意说单数,而不说复数有点复杂!所以下节课应该再加强练习。本节课教师有点着急,课程虽然进行的挺顺利,但是有点节奏快!所以,以后得多锻炼!
