教材分析：

Using Language 是航海这个单元的第二篇阅读。文章介绍了作者跟随Bligh船长一起登上Bounty号前往Tahiti的一段海上惊险旅程。文章情节紧凑，内容引人入胜。通过作者在船上经历的水手叛变、海上漂流、而后在经验丰富的船长带领下克服重重困难最后胜利安全靠岸的故事，展现了Bligh船长有勇有谋的英雄形象和宽容、沉着、睿智的领导者风范。通过作者的自己经历鼓励学生养成忠诚、勇敢的崇高品格。

学生情况分析：

学生通过warming-up和reading部分，对国内外航海史以及著名的航海家已有了初步的认识，并且对更深入了解相关内容表现出有浓厚的兴趣。

教学目标：

通过有关郑和下西洋听力问答，提高学生高考听说考试技巧

学生能够读懂文章，掌握故事主要脉络，并能对故事情节和人物心理进行推断。

学生对根据故事的内容对部分情节和人物心理作出合适的推断。

教学过程：

I.Listening

1. Show the picture of Zheng He and ask the students to tell some basic information about him.

2. Go through the listening text with the students and the play the mp3 twice. Ask the students to fill in the missing words. Give the students 1 minute to share their answers within the group and check the answer in class. 3. Present the map of Zheng He’s journey and ask the students to mark the places he might have visited. 4. Play the second part of the listening and ask the students to finish the ask-and-answer part.

II. Reading 1.

Present some pictures of the great navigators they have learned in the previous text and ask the students to say something about them and make comparison. 2.

Introduce Captain Bligh, the Bounty and the munity, providing some basic information for the following text. 3.

Ask the students to discuss in groups to guess what was the possible reason for the mutiny and why? 4.

Ask the students to skim para.1 and try to fill in the missing basic information.

5.

Ask the students to read the rest of the text and find out what difficulties they met at sea III. Discussion Ask the students to work in groups to discuss: What kind of qualities did Bligh show as a captain during the journey?

Why do you think the writer describe it as one of the greatest in navigational history? Give your reasons.

IV. Useful expressions

1. Ask the students to find out the useful expressions in the text according to the Chinese expressions.

2. Present two sentences containing the word “reading” in the text and explain its usage. Provide more examples to illustrate it.
