Teaching Goals: By the end of the class, students are supposed to: 1. master the three ways to choose the best title for narrations. 2. put the three ways into practice and solve problems. Important Points: Guide students to sum up the three ways to choose the best title for narrations by discussing three passages that students have read before. Difficult Points: Enable students to use the three ways to solve problems. Teaching Procedures: Step 1 Lead-in Step 2 Discussion and summing up 1. Get some students to talk about their ways of choosing the best title for three passages, which students have read before, and explain their reasons. (Reading Materials One) 2. Teacher makes a comment on students’ answers and guide the whole class to sum up three ways to choose the best title for narrations. 3. Teacher sums up the three ways and the features of each kind of title. Step 3 Reading and discussing 1. Students read four passages (Reading Materials Two) by themselves and choose the best title. 2. Students form groups of four and discuss with each other about the best title, the way they apply and the reasons. 3.
