Unit2 working the land---a pioneer for all people 教材分析

本文选自人教版普通高中课程标准实验教科书英语必修4 第二单Working the land。本单元的中心话题是农业。本节课是这一单元的第二课时，是一节阅读课。文章主要介绍的是袁隆平的生平和他的杂交水稻。

学情分析

知识：文章中的黑体字生词和词组，学生之前

已经学过：struggle, circulating, rid...of…, down, be satisfied with, would rather 阅读技能：大部分学生在快速阅读获取文章大意时有障碍，需要老师提供更多的帮助。部分学生根据上下文和构词法推测、理解单词词义的能力还有待提高，因此学生在阅读时老师应给予适当的帮助。

情感：部分学生在用英语与别人交流时存在害羞、拘谨心理，需要为他们提供更多运用语言的机会。并在语言训练过程中帮助学生欣赏袁隆平的伟大精神以及思考资源现状。

1 Lead-in

Enjoy a video about the present situation of some African countries.After watching it ,ask students how they feel and how to solve the problem?Then invite some of them to talk about it.Next ,the teacher sums up their ideas. At last,the teacher tells the students the best way to solve the food shortage is to develop agriculture and asks them who plays an important part in developing agriculture.

设计目的：通过一短视频给学生呈现粮食紧缺的严重性，然后号召大家出谋划策，引导他们说出提高粮食产量，接着引出袁隆平，从而让学生明白袁隆平在农业方面做出的贡献并且欣赏袁隆平的伟大精神以及思考资源现状。

也为后面discussion做一个铺垫，让学生知道树立节约意识的紧迫性。

设计目的：讨论完后宣誓可以深化学生节约粮食，节约资源的意识。

Step 6 Homework 设计目的：以海报的形式再次呈现学生讨论的结果，进一步深化学生的节约意识。
