Enable Ss to master the main idea of the text . Enable Ss to learn more about agriculture, countryside and farming. By talking they can exchange their experience with each other. By reading they will realize the role that agriculture plays in human life. Of course they will learn from Dr Yuan some noble character. 3. Learning ability goals 学能目标

Help Ss learn how to enlarge the words and structures of the same topic. Teaching important and difficult points 教学重难点

1. How to grasp the main idea of the passage. 2. How to grasp the words and phrases and be able to use them freely. Help students really master the usage of words and expressions. 3. A game. T:Morning, boys and girls! Glad to see you! Before this class, I did a survey about all of you .Now, I know there are 98% students in our class are from

farmer’s family, so you must be familiar with many kinds of crop.Now, let us have a game. I would like some students come here to feel the crop in this box and tell us the name of the crop. Remember, you need close your eyes before you speak out the name. Ss: OK. 设计意图：通过游戏激发学生的学习热情，同时能进一步了解各种农作物。

(In English, we call a basic food that everyone eats everyday is a “staple food”.)---Maybe it is necessary for T to explain the meaning of staple food. (with pictures , it should be easy for my Ss to check out the word---rice, then T can goes to the next step Pre-reading) Step Ⅱ

The fact is that there is enough food in the world for everyone to eat, but still more than 1000 million people go hungry everyday. It is a disturbing problem. So do you have some ideas to help solve the problem, or to help those poor people? 设计意图：这一部的涉及为了直接使学生进入本堂课的主题，袁隆平的介绍，通过这一步学生应该更能直接地感受到袁的贡献及其伟大，也更能感受袁的简单，不注名誉和无私。

Step ⅣPost reading Task 1 Words competition: brain storm. What kind of person is Dr. Yuan ? Task 2 Role play: Work in groups

Suppose you were a reporter, interview Dr. Yuan after the award celebration. And then you should make a report about Dr. Yuan’s personal information.

Display the interview. 设计意图：给学生提供语言情境，合作讨论，真正的展现自己的风采，挑选两组上台表演，练习使用文中的语句和表达能力。

Homework—Expansion T: Dr. Yuan is a great person in the world, to some people, he even is a hero. I think everyone has his own hero in his/ her mind. So who is the best person in your mind? Describe him or her. You can describe him from these aspects---appearance, attitudes, experiences, hobbies,……

设计意图：检查学生是否对人物的介绍或描写有了一定的概念，并检查学生是否能正确自然地使用新学词汇或句型。

课后反思（Reconsideration after class）

1.在讲到袁隆平的梦想的时候，可延伸到学生的贴身生活，在学校组织的每天上午和下午第一节课读励志信的活动中，最后一句是励志学习，高考亮剑。借此可以提问学生：你的梦想6

是什么？为了实现这个梦想你有所准备吗？准备了些什么呢？使学生明白生活目标的重要性，以及提醒学生实现目标时努力以及坚持的重要性。

2．个人上课素养或习惯，在这方面应注意课堂上避免有重复句子的习惯，太多的重复，不利于学生注意力的集中，以及语言接受能力的提高
