Teaching Content: Cloze Teaching Goals:

1. Ss will know more about the skills to do Cloze well through self-study and group-discussion.

2. Ss will learn the lesson that one person should never give up when faced with a challenge. Teaching important and difficult points: 1.

Improve Ss’ skills to do Cloze well. 2. Motivate Ss to learn the skills by themselves.

Teaching model: Flipped class Teaching Procedures Step 1: Before class

Ask Ss to watch teaching videos on Cloze. Considering not everyone has access to the Internet, I also prepare paper materials for them. Ss finish the cloze before class and hand it in. I correct the exercise and collect the information. Return the paper to Ss. Step 2: During class

What lessons can you learn after reading the passage? 3.

Group activities Divide the whole class into group of 4. Give Ss some time to discuss the passage with partners. 4.

Ask Ss to deal with the passage.

In this process, Ss are the leading roles. 5.

Individual activities

Ask Ss to find out at least five useful words or phrases from the passage. Give Ss some time to write them down. 6.

Free discussion

According to the information collected before class, discuss some of them with Ss.

Step 3: After class

Ask Ss to do one Cloze every day to improve their ability.
