Step three: Discover useful words and expressions (15mins)

Task 1. In the reading passage several expressions are used in an idiomatic way. The idiomatic meaning for each of the expressions has been given in Exercise 2. Please use these expressions and fill in the blank.

Task 2. There are some other useful words and expressions in the reading passage. Look at Exercise 3，using a correct word or a phrase in the chart to complete sentence. You are given a few minutes to do it then we’ll check the answers. Allow the students a few minutes to finish the task. Then check the answers.

Task 3.Enable students to remember theses idiomatic words and phrases well, teacher will show the basic words and students need to write down the extension of the words in blank 1,and write down correct phrases in blank 2 in Exercise 4. Allow the students a few minutes to finish the task. Then check the answers.

Step four: Using words and expressions to make a composition. (12mins)

Task 1. There are some useful words and phrases which we can make it into a composition. Let’s finish the sentences together and try your best to complete it
