一、教材分析

这节课上的是人教课标版必修2 Unit 2 The Olympic Games 第二课时Reading部分，要求学生通过阅读

AN INTERVIEW一文，学习有关古代奥运会和现代奥运会的知识，并能说出古代奥运会和现代奥运会的相同点和不同点。

二、学情分析

里约奥运会刚刚结束，学生对奥运会还记忆犹新，因此学生对这一课时兴趣会比较大。但由于这篇课文属于科普文，句子比较艰涩难懂，因此老师在教学过程中应该对课文内容进行编辑，设计一些巧妙的环节，更进一步激发学生的学习兴趣。

三、教学重难点

1、引导学生通过听说，获取关于奥运会的信息，了解现代奥运会的有关知识；

2、引导学生通过阅读，了解古代奥运会和现代奥运会的异同。

四、教学过程

Step I. Lead-in

T: What will you think of seeing the pictures below?

T: What do the five rings on the Olympic flag stand for?

T:What do you know about the origin of the Olympic Games?

T:Is the ancient Olympic Games the same as the modern Olympic Games?

T: Do they have any similarities and differences?

展示里约奥运会和北京奥运会的会徽，激发学生的兴趣，引出奥运会这个话题。通过对奥运五环意义的询问，引出古代奥运会和现代奥运会，给学生留下悬念。

Step II. Listening and Speaking 情景介绍

角色：你是Pausanias 任务：(1) 与Li Yan 谈论有关奥运会的话题；

(2) 根据谈话内容回答同学的问题。

生词：Olympic Games 1. 现在请你用英语提问三个问题。

1、为什么这些运动被叫做冬季奥运会？

通过对课文素材的剪辑，让课文内容首先以听说的形式出现，贴合高考听说考试的要求，训练学生在听说练习中学习捕捉重要信息的能力，对课文内容进行大体理解和把握，调动学生的思维积极性。

Step V Detailed Reading

Read the passage in details to find out the similarities and differences between

the ancient and modern Olympics. Suggested Keys：

Similarities：1. Some events are the same, such as running, jumping, shooting and throwing. 2. The mottos are the same: swifter, higher, stronger. 3.Both are held every four years. 4.Both are held not for money but for honor. 5.Men are allowed to take part in both in ancient and modern Olympics. Differences: 1. Ancient Olympics had only one set of Games - the Summer Olympics held in Greece only. Only male people in Greece could take part in the Olympics. The winners would be awarded with olive wreath.

2. Modern Olympics have two sets of Games - the Summer Olympics and the Winter Olympics held in countries all over the world. Both male and female athletes can take part in the Games. The winners will get medals . 【设计意图】
