Students: senior high school students, grade two Lesson duration: 40minutes Teaching contents: Unit1 Cultural Relics New vocabularies: complete; candle; mirror New phrases: all things considered; be designed for; make a decision. Teaching objects: students are able to improve their reading skills such as scanning; skimming and getting the main idea of the passage. Teaching aids: tapes, blackboard, chalks, PPT, pictures Type of lesson: vocabulary, reading, speaking, listening, writing

Teaching methods: communicative approach, Task-based Language Teaching.

Teaching procedures: Step 1: warm-up (5minutes) a)

The teacher will use some pictures and ask a question “can you tell me what it is ?”

Teacher summarizes and writes the words on the blackboard. Step 2: presentation (10minutes) a)

Use a paragraph ,let students use correct words to fill the blank. b)

Students work in group of two and fill the blank.
