Unit3 Computers Using language---reading and speaking

Teaching aims：

Knowledge aims: master some new words and expressions in the unit. Learn something about robots. Learn to use the functional items: describing. Ability aims: develop Ss’ reading ability by extensive reading.

Enable Ss to describe something vividly. Emotional aims: simulate Ss’ interests in robots.

Develop their spirit of cooperation and creation. Important points in teaching: Learn the reading skills and draw a robot. Difficult points in teaching: Lean to use the related words, expressions and functional items to express themselves. 学情分析：该班为重点班，英语综合能力比较强，如果给足够的准备时间，他们一定能跟着老师的思路和节奏完成教学任务。该班上课时的课堂气氛比较好，很容易互动。

Teaching procedures: Step 1 Lead-in

Use a picture to lead in the topic--Robot, and watch a video about 2016 World Robots Conference to know more about the current situation of robots. 设计意图：用《机器人总动员》里的robot的图片先激发学生的兴趣，引出话题，然后观看2016年世界机器人大会的宣传片，拓宽学生的思维和眼界，了解机器人的飞速发展。介绍机器人的功能，为后面的运动机器人做铺垫。

Step 2 Reading (15min)

I am going to introduce you a robot who can play football too, named

Andy. Please turn to page 23 to read. 设计意图：借助图片，带着学生开始接触这堂课的主角--Andy。

Before-reading: match the meaning with the words or expressions in

the text.

Reading: finish the file about the android.

Read the text carefully and decide if the following statements are

After-reading: Retell the whole passage. 设计意图：读前带着学生熟悉生词和短语，扫清阅读障碍，降低阅读难度。然后让学生填写Andy档案，让学生对Andy有个具体的形象，然后利用对错题检验学生对细节的理解，帮助学生加深理解。阅读完成后让学生简要介绍一下这堂课的内容，为画自己的机器人过渡。

Step 3 Designing（8min）

Please draw a picture about your robot and the most important thing is to describe it to the whole class with the help of the given words or phrases. 设计意图：团队协作画出各组自己理想的机器人，这放飞了学生的想象力，然后组织语言准备介绍各组的机器人，整个环节调动了学生的多种感官和意识，加深了学生对机器人的认识。

Step 4 Presentation

Ask students to show their works and introduce them. 设计意图：这一环节主要让学生展示自己的作品，给学生练习口语创造条件。学生们能放开自我，让同学了解自己的想法，这是一次交流，也让学生体验成功的快乐。

Step 5 Homework （1min）

1.Review the words and phrases we’ve learnt today.

2. Write your own robot with about 100 words . You can refer to the passage on page 24.
