Learning aims: After class , the students will be able to : 1. Know the main idea of the two dialogues . 2. Get the required details from the two dialogues to fill in the form (Item 3) on page 22.

3. Use the expressions and the structures in Item 4 on gage 22 to give reasons and make decisions. Step ⅠPre-listening

1. Talk about IT with the students and get the students to know a relatively clear definition of IT:

IT is the study, design, development, support or management of computer-based information systems, particularly software applications and computer hardware. In short, IT deals with the use of electronic computers and computer software to convert, store, protect, process, transmit and retrieve information, securely. Today, the term information technology has an enriched meaning, covering many fields.

2. Get the students to see the form on page 22 (Item 3)to elicit the students to predict what the dialogue is about . Before listening to the two dialogues , make sure all the students know the words：developing countries、include and describe .Then ask the students to listen to the two dialogues once and put down the main idea on the line. Step Ⅱ

While- listening

1. Get the students to see the form (Item 2 ) on page 22 to know they are supposed to listen to . 2. Play the two dialogues twice and get the students to fill in the details . If some students have difficulties , play it again and then check the answers with all the students .

Step Ⅲ

Post- listening 1. Get the students to discuss the advantages and the disadvantages of the four forms of IT in groups of four. Remind the students to use the information in the two dialogues and the information they have got in the form (Item 2) 2. Before the students start to talk about the disadvantages and the advantages of certain form of IT ,get them to practice using the two structures : The advantage of …

is that…

Give the students some substitutions to practice using the structures to make sure all students can speak fluently .

Step Ⅳ

Speaking 1. Get

the students to have a short discussion in groups of four to get others’

ideas about which form(s) of IT their partner favors and ask for their reasons and then decide what they’d like to have or invent. Before the discussion starts, Get the students to go through the structures in the table in Item 4.and help the students to give reasons using the structure:

Homework 1. See Item 1 on page 56 in your workbook and name each part of a computer with the words in the left-hand box. Get help from the Net if you have any problems .

2. Talk with your partners about the development of IT and decide what you’re going to do . 3.Read the article ANDY---THE ANDRIOD

on page 23 and fill in the blanks in Item 1&2 .
