本框是人教版高中英语必修4第二单元

Working the land，本课是这个单元的Warming up pre-reading &reading 部分。本单元的中心话题是农业。学生通过了解有关农业和农作物种植的内容,了解农业在整个人类生活中的重要性。这样通过农业耕作的一系列图片的形式,激活学生大脑，让学生通过阅读课文更多地了解我国的农业科学家袁隆平的科研成果及其影响。

二．教学目标

Teaching Aims: 1. Enable the students to get some information of Yuan Long ping and his great achievements;

2. Help the students to form good reading habits and master some key reading skills; such as skimming fast reading and careful reading and so on. 3. Ask the students to form the spirit of interaction and cooperation. 4.

Get the students to learn the scientific spirit of Yuan Long ping and his attitude towards life.

Step1 Greetings and lead-in show the poem “ The Peasant’s lot”《悯农》

Since most of the student are from the countryside ,they are happy to show what they have known.

After the discussion, show some pictures of how to grow the rice.

Step2 Pre-reading What do you think would happen if tomorrow there was suddenly no rice to eat?(pictures of the hungry children in Africa)

Compare the process of growing a plant with their own.

By showing them the process of growing the rice let the students know how hard it is to work the land Learn to cherish the food we eat.

4、小组讨论，有一部分同学走了过程，未能真正参与，要改近措施争取有效性得到提高。
