Step3: New lesson. Language points: T: Today we are going to deal with the language points in the text. Firstly, let’s select some important words and phrases. have … in common, as a result, so…that…, by the time…, deal…with. Now let’s learn their usages together. (1)

Show students two sentences to translate and watch out, then summarize the usages by themselves. By the time I was sixteen, my dream had come true. By the time they get there, we will have finished the work. by the time到……

为止（引导时间状语从句，如果从句用过去时，则主句用过去完成时；如果从句用一般现在时，则主句用将来完成时）。

deal with= do with处理

do with 和do with 都可以表示“处理，对付”，但有疑问词(what和how)时，deal with 常与how连用，do with常与what 连用。

Students work in groups to have a short discussion in three minutes. Teacher has prepared the mission cards for each group to choose. While discussion, teacher walks around to help students if they have any question.

After discussion, teacher will invite some of them to share their answers and others to make comments. Step5. A short summary.

Students are asked to use the language points learnt this class to complete the short passage. 七、Homework:

九、Teaching Reflection: In this class, students were asked to master five important words and phrases. They should not only remember the meaning of these words and phrases but also put them into practice correctly. According to doing the related exercise, I have found that students can recite the usages of the language points, but it is still difficult for them to use them. So teacher should give them more exercise to practice the future.
