Teaching Aims:
1. Review the new words and phrases. 2. Complete the blanks: Let’s check/Let’s wrap it up. 3. Learn to tell the story in Story time. Main Points and Difficult Points: 1. Main points: words and phrases. 2. Difficult points: Understanding the story.
Teaching Aids:VCD Teaching Steps:
一、Warming up and Revision. 1、Greetings. 2、Sing
the song 《Changes in me》
二、Revision 1. Review the words: star, easy, look up, Internet, different, active, dining hall, grass, gym, ago, cycling, go cycling, ice-skate, badminton race,
nothing ,thought, felt, cheetah, trip, woke, dream. 三、Presentation 1. Main sentences (1) Look at the pictures and read the sentences, then correct the mistakes. (2) Listen to the tape and follow it. 2. Listen to the tape and finish let’s check.
1) Talk about what is happening in the picture. 2) Play the tape, let the students to fill in the blanks. 3) Play the tape again, the students cross out the words they didn’t hear, then check
the answers. 3. Teach let’s wrap it up. Talk about the changes below. 4. Teach Story time.
1) T: Look ,Zoom and Zip are talking about changes .What are they talking about ?Let’s read.
2)Look at the pictures and read the story by themselves, underline new sentences. 3)Listen to the tape and try to read the story. 4)Read the sentences and explain them: Cavemen often ate raw meat. In 2050, there will be house robots. They did not do the dishes either. We should help the earth now, so birds will have homes and the forests will be healthy and green again. Before humans lived on the earth, whales already lived in the sea. If we changed now, whales and humans will have a bright future. Heal the world! Make it a better place! 5)Role play the story. Divide the class into several groups and have a competition. 四、Consolidation and extension Group work: Protecting our environment. Work in groups of six, make a poster to protect our environment. The whole class decide which group is the best. 五、Homework 1. Listen to the tape and learn the story by heart, then try to retell the story. 2. Copy and recite the new words and sentences.
3. Do some additional exercises.
