Teaching Plan for Special Topic: Proofreading Lecturer: Zhang Chuchu Three dimensional teaching aims: Knowledge aims: 1. Let the Students know more about proofreading, especially its types of mistaking. 2. Make the Students know how to work out proof reading. Ability aims: 1. Develop the Students’ ability of finding out mistakes.

2. Encourage the Students to spot the relation between proofreading and composition, and train their ability of comparison. 3. Enable the Students to obtain knowledge by researching, cooperating and experiencing. Emotional aims: 1. Help the Students to realize everyone will make mistakes no matter how great he /she is. When we make mistakes, don’t be too nervous.

2. Make the Students realize it is what we can do not what we worry about that matters if we meet difficulty. Teaching emphasis: Master main mistakes appearing in the text and grasp the methods to correct them. Teaching aids: Chalk board, Multi-media, printed exercise materials Teaching process: Step I. Lead in (7 minutes) 1. Show students the contents of this lesson. (Presenting the contents on the screen) Purpose: let students know more clearly the procedure of this lesson. 2.

Show students the error point settings and how to correct them. Show students three pictures which were corrected falsely. Purpose: make students realize the importance of right correction.

Show students the statistics of the point setting from 2015 to 2018. Purpose: make students pay more attention to the preposition, verbs, adjective and adverbial and so on. 4.

The approaches to answer proof reading. Purpose: make students know more clearly about how to finish a proof-reading paper. Step II. Presentation (22 minutes) 1.

Check the preparation paper of class ask students to answer the question about first two parts and make a conclusion about these two points. Purpose: make students know how to learn the way of finishing the proof reading. 2.

Finish the rest exercise and discuss their answer with each other and conclude the comments by themselves. Purpose: develop the students’ ability to think independently and their ability about cooperation. 3.

Ask students to answer the questions and make a comment on the rest points. Step III. Practice (12 minutes) 1.

Finish a text which includes all the correct points mentioned above. 2.

Ask a student to come to the front to answer the questions. Purpose: Strengthen the setting points. Step IV. Summary (2minutes) make a summary for this lesson and enable the students to get more confident to finish the proof reading. Step VI. Homework (2 minutes) 1.
