To learn to use words in proper forms according to the rules of word-formation. 3.

Teaching procedures

二．Pre-task preparation

Show some sentences that appeared in Shanghai High School Entrance Examination (English). Let students talk about the meanings of words in red.

Read the sentences closely and find out the meanings of the words in red. To elicit the major processes of word-formation by learning the words in these sentences. While-task procedure

1. Derivation

Inform students of the concept of derivation. 2. Invite students to give out examples about common affixes for each kind of part of speech and then make a conclusion. 3. Do some related exercises:

a. Quiz for derivation

b. Vocabulary Tree

c. Blank-filling

1). Learn the concept of derivation. 2). Discuss the common affixes they have met in English. 3). Change words into correct forms with right affixes. 4). Speak out as many words as possible related to the given one. 5). Fill in blanks with words in their proper forms.

Homework

教学设计说明

教学内容分析: 本课为关于构词法（word-formation）的教学。构词法的运用在中考的词性转换及阅读理解中都有所涉及，学习构词法的基本规则对学生正确使用单词词性和词形有很大帮助，此外，构词法还能帮助学生破解部分生词的含义，更好地理解文章的内容。本课主要学习三种主要的构词法，即合成（compounding），派生法（derivation）和转化（conversion）。重点和难

点集中在派生法的教学。

教学目标说明：

教材中已经出现了大量的合成词，派生词及转化词，本课将对此三种构词法的含义和基本规则进行归纳和总结，使学生系统地掌握构词的基本规则，学会根据需要使用正确的词性和词形，并运用构词法提高阅读的理解能力。

教学过程

本课设计了pre-task preparation, while-task procedure和post-task activity三个环节。

一、

Pre-task preparation: 展现三段中考阅读中出现的语段，分别包含了合成词

take-out，派生词celebration和转化词interview，引出三种主要的基本构词法。

二、

While-task procedure: (一)

合成：

让学生对合成词的概念和基本结构有所了解

2.

给出句子让学生猜测其中合成词的含义

3.

给出两组词根请部分学生将其进行组合构成合成词并请其他学生猜测含义

(二)

派生：

使学生了解派生词的概念

2.

通过平时词汇学习的积累，请学生举出与所给出含义或词性相对应的词缀，并进行梳理和总结

请学做一些相关的练习

a. Quiz for derivation: 给出一组单词，请学生任选一个并说出与要求相对应的派生词

b. Vocabulary Tree：

给出一个单词，请学生说出尽可能多的与其相关的派生词

c. Blank-filling：用单词的适当形式填空

转化：

使学生了解派生词的概念

2.

给出包含同一个单词的几组句子，请学生说出在不同句子中该单词的含义

三、

Post-task activity 运用本课所学构词法的相关知识，请学生完成相应的阅读练习题

课后的复习巩固

在所给出的文章中找出合成词、派生词、转化词至少各一个，说明其含义并造句。
