I. Teaching aims: 1. Ss are able to understand and read this story with pictures and other reading strategies, then complete the sentence ordering activity after the story. 2. Ss are able to retell and act this story with the teacher’s guidance. 3. Ss are able to talk about their own or other person’s hobbies with the sentences patterns “I like ….” and “Sb likes ….” after reading this story. 4. Ss can experience the child’s fun in this story, as well as the main character’s kind and tolerant. II. Teaching key points: 1. Ss are able to understand and read this story. 2. Ss are able to talk about their own or other person’s hobbies with the sentences patterns “I like ….” and “Sb likes ….” after reading this story. III. Teaching difficult points: Ss are able to retell and act this story.

Ⅵ. Teaching procedures: Step1. Warm up 1. Greeting

2. Let’s sing a song about hobbies of this unit. 【Purpose】Make a close distance with the Ss and attract Ss’ attention to the topic of this class by singing the song about “hobbies”. Step2. Pre-reading Focusing on the topic of “Hobbies”, play a “Brainstorm” game. 【Purpose】Through this game, lead the Ss to join in the class soon and review the related words will be used quickly. Step3. While-reading 1. Show a picture of the main character Bill and Lucky to guide the students in their thinking with the questions: “Does Lucky have hobbies? What are Lucky’s hobbies? Do they have same hobbies? ”

【Purpose】Guide the Ss to predict the story and stimulate the interest of reading the story.

2. Challenge Ss’ listening. Listen to the story and answer the questions above.

【Purpose】To understand the main topic of this story generally in S’s brain.

3. Listen and read the story picture by picture with the task paper to lead the Ss to understand deeply. Besides, lead the Ss to experience the main character’s kind and tolerant to the dog Lucky.

【Purpose】With pictures, task paper and some reading strategies, guide the Ss to comprehend the story clearly. 4. Read the whole story by Ss themselves first and then together , then complete the sentence ordering activity and give a title to this story.

【Purpose】Comprehend the whole story and each plot of this story. 5. Watch the flash of this story. 【Purpose】Make the story visual and reproduce the whole story.

Step4. Post-reading 1. Make a picture book of this story and Retell the story with the guidance of the sentence ordering activity ordering activity. 【Purpose】Retell the story by an interesting and special way. 2. Make a hobby poster by Ss. 【Purpose】Use the sentence patterns related to the Ss’ real life.
