Charlie Chaplin’s father died when he was young, and his family was badly off. He has a gift for acting even he was a child, so he became the most popular child actors through his humour. He was able to make terrible situations funny and at the same time show the humanity and kindness. One of his most famous films is The Gold Rush.

Chaplin and his friend want to find gold in Alaska, but they have no enough fortune to find any. Instead, they are caught in a snowstorm and have nothing to eat. They are so hungry that they have to boil a pair of leather shoes and eat them. Chaplin seems to eat each mouthful with great enjoyment and makes it seem as if it were one of the best meals he has ever had. He always inspires people with great confidence.
