Teaching Plan Unit 3 A Taste of English Humour Using language (2) 一．

教材分析：

本单元是人教版必修四第三单元,以A Taste of English Hunour话题为主，而using language 这部分是以阅读、欣赏English jokes and funny stories为主线，感受英语幽默，扩大英语视野，并在此基础上进行写作以培养学生运用所学内容理解表达幽默。

二．学生分析：

授课对象是高一学生，对于高一大部分学生来说，他们喜欢汉语笑话和幽默故事，对英语幽默故事和笑话接触少，兴趣不是很浓厚，即便是读了两三遍也还是不能理解体会幽默的具体含义。另外，词汇量有限，有些英语单词一词多义，不同语境下的用法和含义理解不准确等，体会不到幽默有趣的地方。这就导致教师必须运用灵活多样的教学方法，并选取学生感兴趣熟悉的笑话和幽默故事以调动学生学习英语幽默的积极性和主动性。

教学目标

1. 语言能力

学生通过阅读欣赏以熟悉英语笑话和幽默故事的意境，认真阅读体会其中的笑点和punchline ,unexpected answers and results妙用等，提高语言运用能力。

2. 学习能力

学生通过个人、同伴互助和小组讨论等学习方式，在观察、阅读、思考、讨论、分享和展示的过程中，感受体验英语幽默的特点和趣味性。

3. 文化品质和思维能力

学生通过学习感受英语笑话和幽默故事，加深对verbal humour理解，正确认识中英文化差异，培养学生在表达运用幽默时的逻辑思维能力和创新能力。

四．教学重点

阅读、欣赏几则典型的英语笑话和幽默故事中的双关语及让人能开怀大笑的意料之外的回答和惊人话语等，尤其是关于Sherlock Holmes和Doctor Watson的幽默故事，并由学生进行表演展示，进一步体验、总结学习英语幽默的意义及重要性。

五．

教学难点

通过阅读、欣赏和体验英语笑话和幽默故事，让学生总结表达英语幽默的技巧和方法，并训练学生结合语境续写英语笑话和幽默故事等。

Appreciating jokes about Mark Twain (6’)

1.

Introduce Mark Twain and one of his sayings about laughter. 2.

Read and enjoy two jokes about Mark Twain and his friends. 【设计意图】由学生熟知的Marl Twain引出他的名言和两则典型的笑话，学生可以出声朗读并体会Marl Twain幽默的待人处事的方式以及带给人们的快乐。让学生轻松感受Marl Twain给出an unexpected reply的效果。

Reading and acting (8’) 1.

Show pictures about Sherlock Holmes and his friend ,Doctor Watson, and then get the students to read a funny story about them. 2.

Read it again and find out the question Sherlock Holmes asked and the unexpected answer he gave which makes the story funny. 3.

Get the two students to act it out. 【设计意图】让学生熟悉Sherlock Holmes 作为小说中著名的侦探幽默有趣的一面，在故事中找出并体会Doctor Watson有趣的回答和最后Sherlock Holmes给出的意料之外的回答，并进行对比，感受其语言文字的幽默。鼓励学生表演，让故事更生动有趣，体现Sherlock Holmes的诙谐幽默。

Sharing (10’) 1.

Read and appreciate more English jokes, and get the students to work in groups to share their favourite jokes with each other. 2.

Get some students to present their favourite joke to the class 3.

Share my joke about one of my cooking experiences with the students to stimulate Ss’ enthusiasm about learning English humour. 【设计意图】进行小组合作，以分享英语笑话和幽默故事带来的快乐，同时更多获取一些词汇信息和幽默的表达方式，体会punchline 和an unexpected answer 的运用。

Continuation writing(12’)

1.

Get the students to think about how to make a joke and show them the methods of making a joke and a funny story. For a short joke, the speaker gives a question or a kind of description. The replier gives a punchline or an expected answer. A long/ longer funny story needs a logical order and creative thinking . a. Explain the situation(like who ,where,when…)

b. Describe what happened.

c. Give the punchline or an expected answer/ result. 2. Show the two different situations and ask the students to complete the funny stories. 3. Present the students’ writing on the screen ,read and enjoy them. 【设计意图】通过前面几个环节的阅读、欣赏、体验、感悟、分享，让学生思考并总结英语笑话和幽默故事的特点以及编写笑话和故事的技巧，以此提升学生对英语幽默的兴趣和认识；最终通过实践-续写幽默故事，以书面形式表达英语幽默，使这个单元话题- A Taste of English Humour 的学习达到升华。

Conclusion (3’) Get the students to be aware of the meaning and importance of learning about English jokes and funny stories. Conclusion:

a. Reading and appreciating English jokes and funny stories can help us enrich our

vocabulary and expand our knowledge with great pleasure. b. They can also let us enjoy our life with a peaceful and humorous mind. c. Keep a sense of humour.
