教学过程：

STEP1 Greeting.

T: Good morning, Boys and girls! S: Good morning, Elaine! T: How are you today? S: I’m fine, thank you. And you?

T: Very well, thanks. STEP2 Warm up. T: Now you are in Grade four. Can you tell me how old are you now? S: I’m 10 years old.

T: Do you know what’s your Chinese Zodiac? Take me for example. I’m 24 years old now and my Chinese Zodiac is a dog. How about you? S:Mouse!

T: Clever mouse! How many Chinese Zodiacs are there? S: There are 12 Chinese Zodiacs. T: What are they? 带领学生说一次十二生肖的英文表达，其中重点教授sheep. 复习表达What colour is..?

STEP3 Presentation. 1.

T: They are so cute, right? Can you tell me what are they? S: Animals! （引出单元主题，animals作为已知单词不做重点教授。）

Get the pupils to say what their favourite animals are and why. 3.

T: Animals are our friends, right? Today there is a happy birthday party in the jungle. Do you wanna join it? S: Yes! T: OK, let’s go! Let's see what animal comes to the party.

(It is very important for the teacher to involve all the pupils in the communication process and the better you are at communicating with gestures, mime and non-verbal language, the easier it will be for the pupils to communicate with you and the more relaxed they will feel about it. )

we are so happy! roar, roar, roar like a lion, walk, walk, walk like a duck, swim, swim, swim like a snake, eat, eat, eat like a wolf, stomp, stomp, stomp like a hippo, think, think, think like a fox!

Come to the party, We are so happy! 第一轮学生听chant,感受发音和节奏，教师做动作。第二轮教师带领学生读并且做动作来表演chant, 第三轮鼓励全班学生一起自行朗读和表演。

Then turn to page 20 and finish the exercise 1a.

（Even the most inadequate attempts at miming are useful because if your mimes are funny, the pupils will remember them better.）

通过各种各样的练习，巩固了所学的单词并渗透了重点句型。

STEP4 Practice and Consolidation

Animals say happy birthday to the frog, but it is not happy. Because some of his friends are missing. 创设帮助青蛙找朋友的情景，将课本练习3b融入其中。以handout（后附）的方式让学生听读、填空，自行学习

3b 的文章。进一步落实句子的学习和理解，把句子放在段落中学习。

最后没有找到的Chammy, 通过相关描述猜出Chammy是一只变色龙chameleon. 用Chammy’s card引导学生自主运用本节课所学内容较完整的介绍Chammy, 再过渡到What happened to Chammy? 引入绘本片段：The mix-up chameleon 3.

考察学生是否理解绘本大意。
