Reading 1.

The students are given two minutes to finish reading part 1. 2.

After their reading, the teacher asks them three questions: (1)

What is a fact? (2)

What is an opinion? (3)

What is called evidence? 3.

The students are then provided with some facts and opinions for them to tell from. (1)

Ask one of the students to read part 2 and ask the students to work in pairs and finish part 3. 5.

Read the instructions of part 4 for the students and list on the blackboard some words that they may not know. (sailor; maid; castle; melted) 2.

Play the tape once and ask them to finish part 4. 3.

Listen to the tape again. Stop after each part and fill in the blanks. 4.
