一、

教材分析

幽默能给人们带来乐趣，幽默能给人们带来享受，幽默还能带给人们深思——幽默是生活中的有益要素。本单元就以品尝英语幽默为主题，让人领略到不同的文化背景下的英语幽默，同时，也让人认识到因为文化的差异，人们对同一个幽默的理解也会有所不同。通过本单元的学习，不单单是在语言知识上有所收益，还鼓励了学生发掘，感受生活中的幽默，保持一种活泼乐观的生活态度，让生活更轻松，更美好。因为这个单元是把多个幽默贯穿起来了，所以学生都能在一种轻松的氛围下学英语。

本节课为第一课时的阅读课。本单元的中心话题是“幽默”，这节课以“非语言幽默大师”为题，介绍世界著名的电影演员，喜剧大师查理·卓别林以及他在无声电影时代的精湛表演，特别是在著名电影《淘金记》中，他运用滑稽、夸张的动作表情，让观众在捧腹大笑之余体会在琐屑、卑微之中所隐藏的深刻本质。

二、设计理念：

本文在描写卓别林的过程中，有两条主线：一是按照时间的先后顺序，即从卓别林的出生，成长，到最后的成名过程；二是抓住人物最突出的特征, 并且通过举例（The Gold Rush）, 说明卓别林与众不同之处。通过让学生运用各种阅读策略，对文章内容结构有所了解之后，引导学生分析卓别林成功的因素以及从他身上可以学习哪些优秀品质，在潜移默化中影响学生形成正确、积极向上的人生观。

三、Teaching goals 1.knowledge goals：

1）Know about Charlie Chaplin’s life and his achivements. 2）Help students learn some important words and expressions.

2.Ability goals：

1)Help students improve their reading ability including skimming,scanning,careful reading, guessing words and concluding.

2) Get the students to understand the whole passage and the structure of the text.

3.Emotional goals：

1）Through the knowledge of humour, arouse students’ interest in learning English.

2) Through reading Charlie’s story, encourage students to have an active attitude

(1)Make the students know about different kinds of humour and Charlie Chaplin

as a master of nonverbal humour. (2)Let the students have a general idea of each paragraph and find out some detailed information.

Step1

Warming up（5分钟）

Play a guessing game. The teacher describe a person, and let the students guess who he is. T:Think about the question: What do they have in common? (S:They are all humourous people) Step2 Lead in(导入) Humour can be divided into two kinds: verbal humour and nonverbal humour. Charlie Chaplin is a master of nonverbal humour.

【设计意图】这两个环节的主要目的是引出话题，激发兴趣。俗话说，“良好的开端是成功的一半”。好的导入扣人心弦，极大地激发学生的学习兴趣，为下一环节的教学做好良好的铺垫。
