Material Analysis The first two periods have finished Warming-up ,

Prereading , Reading and part of Learning about language .This is the third period which is mainly about the usage of v-ing form as subject and object. Because this is the first period about the usage of the v-ing form, the teacher plans to use a few pictures to introduce v-ing form in the part of Lead-in . Then present all kinds of forms of ving forms by giving examples to let Ss sense the structures. The first step is to ask Ss to read the passage A Pioneer For All People and find the sentences using v-ing as subject and object. The teacher will lead the Ss to the usage of v-ing form used as subject and object. Afterwards, practise the usage of v-ing forms by two tasks.

Analysis of the

students This is a new way for students to learn the usage of v-ing form as subject and object by speaking, reading and writing. They should find the rules on their own by watching and thinking. Because this is the first time that they have learned the usage of ving form systematically, they have some puzzle and interest in it. 1. Knowledge aims: 1) Master the basic forms of v-ing forms. 2) Grasp the usage of v-ing forms as subject and object. 3) Practice how to use v–ing form as subject and object . 2. Ability aims:

To use v-ing as subject and object to speak and write freely and properly. 3. Emotional aims : 1)to promote students’ interest in English learning.

2)to make the students use v-ing form better in the future. 3)to encourage the students to be braver to express themselves properly in class.

10-15minutes Give some examples and summarize the usage of v-ing as subject and object together with the students. Ask Ss to enjoy a story and use some v-ing forms to complete the passage in pairs. Complete the examples on the sceen and summarize and grasp the usage of v-ing as subject and object. Let students grasp the basic and the special usage of v-ing form as subject and object.
