Teaching materials: A rainy day Mcdull: Mum, can we go out now? Mum: I’m afraid you can’t. Look out of the window.
It’s raining heavily.
Mcdull: Oh, the wind is blowing strongly too. Mary: When can we go out and play? Mum: Let’s watch the weather on TV.
Weatherman: We have some heavy rain and a strong
wind today. But tomorrow will be a fine day. Mary: That’s great. I can go to the park with Alice
tomorrow.
Mcdull: And I can go and play football.
Good afternoon. Welcome to ‘Weather Today’. First, look at today’s weather in Shanghai. It is rainy today. In the morning, the wind blows strongly and the clouds move quickly. In the afternoon, the wind is still strong. And there is heavy rain too. Close your windows and stay at home. But tomorrow will be a fine day.
Next, the weather in Harbin(哈尔滨). It’s very cold there.
The wind blows strongly. And it snows heavily. But tomorrow it will be sunny. And there is some gentle wind. Then the weather in Hainan. It’s warm there. It’s cloudy today. The wind blows gently. But tomorrow will be a rainy day. A stormy(暴风雨) is coming from the South China Sea. It will bring heavy rain and strong wind to Hainan. Please close your windows and stay at home.
A terrible typhoon(台风) hits a small town in Japan. Many houses fall down to the ground. The typhoon pulls out many big trees and throws them far away. Cars are like toys. The wind blows them onto the buildings. Hundreds of people hurt and ten people die. Many people are still missing.(失踪) After the typhoon, heavy rain comes. This makes the rescue ['reskjuː] work(救援工作) very difficult.
