Step 1:
Today’s Rabbit’s birthday. All of her animal friends are coming with a lot of presents. Let’s see what’s in them, OK?
Monkey’s coming. Guess, what’s in Monkey’s box? It’s a carrot.
Read, spell, write it down on the blackboard. Step 2.
Look, Bear’s coming. Guess, what’s in Bear’s box? (A Chinese riddle)
It’s a cucumber. Read, spell, write it down on the blackboard. Step 3. Practice: Ask two students to ask and answer: What’s that in English? It’s a carrot./ It’s a cucumber.
Step 4. The Rabbit has so many presents. Let’s ask if she likes then or not, OK?
Happy birthday to you, Rabbit. Do you like watermelons? Yes, I do. Ask several students to ask and answer in pairs. Take out your questionnaire and ask two students, write down their likes and dislikes of fruits and vegetables.
Step 5. Look! Li Yan and Lisa are at the Rabbit’s Birthday Party, too. What are they talking about? Listen carefully and think about the question: What does Lisa like?
Listen to the dialogue for another time. Read after the teacher. Ask the student to lead. Practice reading the dialogue in pairs. Act it out in front of the class. Step 6.
