【教学过程】

Step 1. Preparation

1. Enjoy some pictures about animals.

2. A riddle.

These are five animals. Today they take a new friend to us. He is a snail.

Step 2. Presentation & Practice

1. Task1: Read and answer

What does the little snail want to do? ( He wants to see the big world.)

T: Can his dream come ture? Look, he lives at the bottom of the tree. He has to climb to the top of the tree. Then he can see the big world. Look, there is a long way.

What will happen during the little snail’s dream?

2. Task2: Read and answer

Who does the snail meet? (Monkey, parrot, giraffe)

3. Task3: Read and answer

1. T: Here, he meets his first friend, monkey. Let’s watch together.

(1)What does the monkey have?

(2)What can the monkey do?

T: Does the monkey believe the snail can climb to the top of the tree?

What does the snail say? (Perhaps I can’t, but I’d like to try.)

2.T: Do the parrot and giraffe believe the snail can climb to the top of the tree? Why?

Now read picture3 and picture4, then fill in the blanks.

3. T: Does the snail give up? What does he say?

At last, the little snail climbs to the top of the tree. He sees the beautiful world.

4. T: Why the little snail can make his dream come true? Can you read the sentence emotionally?

Step 3. Production

T: It’s our show time. Let’s act out the picture book.

Step 4. Progress

T: In our life, maybe we can’t do many things. But remember:

“No matter how hard, we should have a try.

Never gives up.”
