best to get the student read it by themselves, then discuss in groups) Ving 形式具有名词性质，可在句中做主语、宾语、标语、定于、宾补和状语，但不能单独做谓语。

一、做主语的用法

（1）做主语时，往往表示经常性、习惯性的动作，在口语中也可以表示具体的动作。如：

①Painting is his hobby. ②Eating healthy food is important for us. （2）可用it做形式主语
