(26 December 1791 – 18 October 1871) was an English polymath（博学的人）. A mathematician（数学家）, philosopher（哲学家）, inventor and mechanical engineer（机械工程师）, Babbage is best remembered for coming up with the concept of a programmable（可编程的）computer. Considered to be a "father of the computer" by some people, Babbage invented the first mechanical computer that eventually led to more complex designs. His

work in other fields（领域）has led him to be described as "pre-eminent"

（杰出的）among the many polymaths of his century.

Alan Mathison Turing (23 June 1912 – 7 June 1954) was an English computer scientist, mathematician, logician（逻辑学家）, and theoretical biologist（理论生物学家）. He was highly influential in the development of theoretical computer science, providing a model of a general purpose computer（通用计算机）.Turing is widely considered to be “the father of theoretical computer science and artificial intelligence”.

Technological revolution is a relatively short period in history when one technology (or better a set of technologies) is replaced（取代）by another technology. It is an era of an accelerated technological progress characterized（以……为特征）not only by new innovations（创新）

but also their application and diffusion（扩展）.

The World Wide Web (abbreviated WWW or the Web) is an information space where documents and other web resources can be shared via the Internet. English scientist Tim Berners-Lee invented the WWW in 1989. He wrote the first web browser computer programme in 1990 while employed at CERN in Switzerland.

The World Wide Web has been central to the development of the Information Age and is the primary tool billions of people use to interact（互动）on the Internet. Web pages may contain（包括）

text, images, video, audio and so on.
