Analysis of Teaching Materials（教学内容分析）

The content is selected from the part—Using Language, which focuses on the ability of listening and speaking. The listening content is about a personal opinion on why women are not given the same chances in their careers as men. The contents are familiar to students but they have difficulties writing down the information they heard. In the speaking part, the content is about whether women are given a fair chance to gain their achievement.

Analysis of Students（学情分析）

Students have learnt half of the unit, and they have a clear mind of some great women’s achievements. They can use the adjectives learnt in this unit

to describe women and to express their opinions. They have the ability to grasp the main idea of listening passage and have a debate to express their ideas.

Step 1: Warming-up.

Greeting (1 min.) I will greet my students like this: Good morning/ afternoon, boys and girls. How are you today? Let’s enjoy this grammar class. The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 上课前的问候能有效地拉近师生关系。

Step 2: Lead-in. (2mins.) Ask them a question: How many famous women are referred in Unit1? Who are they? The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 问题的设计能直接将学生的关注点集中在课文上。

Step 3: Using five questions to review and lead the listening contents.

Ask students questions, and let them answer step by step. The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 这一环节既复习了之前所学的知识，同时也一步步引出了本节课内容。

Step 4: Play the record and listen twice. The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 在听的过程中观察学生表现，听后核对答案以答疑。

Step 5: Speaking—Have a debate. The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 这环节主要培养学生学以致用的能力。

Step 6: Conclusion The purpose of the design（设计意图）: 小结本堂课所学内容，再次帮助学生整理知识。
