Step I lead-in

Read the new words together. Step II Introduction 1.

Show some key words the students have learnt in the last lesson. 2.

Review the usage of these words. 3.

Ask the students to make sentences using these words. 4.

T: Now look at the words in activity. Do you know their meanings? Check their meanings in your dictionaries. Then complete the passage with the words. 2.

Read the story in the text book.

T: What do they have in common? S: They are all time phrases except “as a result”. They are used in the passage to indicate the development of the story. From them, we get a clear timeline of the story. 3.

Create one of your own story using the phrases or sentence structure in the text book. And using the new words in this unit as much as possible. 4.

After finishing writing, read their own story loudly. And other
