Unit3 Computers Learning about language I. Teaching aims At the end of this lesson, students will 1.master the important words and expressions. 2.discover useful structures 3.grasp the tense of the sentences. II. Teaching key points and difficult points 1. Teacher leads students to understand and master the words,phrases,sentence structures and linking words effectively. 2. Teacher leads students to master the way to use advanced and various sentence structures. III. Teaching and learning methods Exercises,Group work, Cooperative learning. IV. Teaching procedure 1.Teacher arouses students’ interests by showing the poem. 2.Teacher shows some example sentence.

3. Teacher asks students questions to lead them to understand and master the use of the present perfect passive voice effectively. e.g. “Look at the way your face has been washed. Look at the way your hair has been combed. Look at the way your shoes have been cleaned. You’d better do them again. Look at the way the flowers has been planted. Look at the way the grass has been cut. Look at the way the paths has been swept. I hope that you’ll come here again.”

4. Students work in groups and cooperate with each other to learn about this tense. 5. Teacher organizes students to listen to read the story in exercise 3 Point out the phrases that are useful in making a chronology for the story.Ask students to study them.Some show the passing of time;others show consequences.

6. Each should write individually and check for mistakes with their partner.Before writing,they can discuss what they are going to write and compare ideas. 7. Teacher stimulates students to check and correct their own answers; meanwhile, teacher provides the standards of checking and correcting. For example, the main idea of the passage, the details, the accurate spellings,the tense and the grammar.

8. Read some stories to the class and discuss their good qualities and how they can be improved further. 9. Teacher help the students to summarize some typical and common mistakes among students’ learning, and correct and analyze them. 10. Homework. Summary the key words,phrases and grammar we learnt this class. V. After-class reflection 1. The English tense is difficult, maybe students can understand them by answering the questions intended for them, but the time spared for them is too limited, and they can’t fully master and practice them.

2. The time given students to prepare is 10 minutes, which proves relatively short and limited. I should have given them more time to consider and discuss. 3. The time for students to check is only 3 minutes, which proves to be too short. The recalling procedure is very important in grammar practice, so teachers should place more emphasis on it.
