Focal points: to enrich and expand some related words and phrases about bad habits. to train Ss' reading strategies in finding details . to make Ss know more about smoking. 2. Difficult points:

to let them know the structure of a letter of advice. to guide them to write a letter of advice, applying the new vocabulary and sentence patterns into it.
