第6单元教学课题:What time is it? 第一课时

教学目标:1. Ss will be able to know the expression of three meals and number.

2. Ss will be able to read the story and act it

3. Ss will be able to talk about time

教学重点: structure: what time is it? It’s ... O’clock. It’s time for breakfast/class/school

Vocabulary: breakfast, lunch, dinner, eleven, twelve

教学难点:

1. What time is it? It’s ... O’clock. It’s time for ... 句型的正确使用

2. 四会单词:eleven,twelve, o’clock, breakfast, dinner, lunch

教学准备:板贴,ppt,纸板钟,卡纸

教学过程:

1. T show ss a song “what time is it?”

T: what can you hear in this song?

S: what time is it.

T: yes, today we will learn unit 6 what time is it?

1. Play a game (quick response)

T: first, let’s play a game

T use ppt to show number from 1-12, these numbers are in a clock, when

it shows11or 12

T: how to spell it?

Teach: eleven (s even) little train

same way to teach twelve (little train)

2. After T show these numbers, it will form a clock

T: what’s this?

S: it’s a clock (double train)

T: the clock can tell us the time. Look at this clock, what time is it? T: tips: when we want to ask the time, we can use what time is it? When you want to answer the time, you can use It’s ... O’clock. T change the clock and ask S1

3.Then T give ss some clocks with a clock in 7:00

Pair work (practice the structure)

Then T invite some Ss to show and ask the last group

T: what can you do at 7 o’clock?

(T: can you sleep? Can you watch TV? Can you eat breakfast?)

S: yes

Teach breakfast

T: so, we can say it’s time for breakfast. When you want to tell people what to do at one time, you can use “It’s time for...” (tips: 中文)

4.T asks some Ss: what do you do at 7:00?

T: Do you know what does taotao do at 7:00? Let’s see a video

together, and I have some question for you

Q: what does taotao do at 7:00?

Q: what does taotao’s mother say? Teach: Wake up

Q: Is taotao late in the morning? Why? Teach: hurry up

5.Listen and circle

T: Boys and girls, do you remember what time is mentioned in the story? Now, let’s listen and circle

6.Reading time

T: You all did a good job. Now please open your book, read the story by yourself and try to match the time and activities.

After students finishing the exercises, they will find the story doesn’t mentioned when does taotao have class.

T: Boys and girls, can you guess when does taotao have class?

7.Timetable

T: Taotao may hav e class at 8 o’clock like you right? So, can you make a timetable of taotao?

After students finished the timetable, T gives students one time(12:00) and ask students what do you usually do at 12 o’clock?

S: lunch

8.Let’s chant!

T: well done! Now I have a chant for you, can you read?

Choose one student to read the chant, then students read together. Then T change the chant and give students some blank, students can fill the blank and make a new chant.

Four groups have a PK.

9.Reading time

Students read story time after the tape, try to imitate it.

Then, students read it together.

1.Show time

Three students in one group, try to act out the story time.

2.Think and choose

Students try to give this story a title.

3.My day

T: T oday, we know something about taotao’s day, can you make your own timetable?

Students write their own timetable and T will choose some students come to the front to show their timetable.

4.Value time

T: Boys and girls, today we learn how to express time and taotao’s day. Time and tide wait for no man, so we need to value our time, ok? Homework:

1.Copy the new words

2. Read the story after the tape and try to act out the story with your partners.
