Unit 1 How do you go there B Let’s read

一、题材:PEP六上

二、教学内容:

The traffic lights are the same in every country. There are always three lights: red, yellow and green. Red means “Stop”. Yellow means “Wait”, and green means “Go”. In China, drivers drive on the right side of the road. In the US, drivers drive on the right side, too. In England and Australia, however, drivers drive on the left side of the road. If you go by car, by bike or on foot, you must know the traffic rules. 三、教学设计:

(一)教学目标与要求

1、能够读懂Let’s read 部分,并能判断短文的句子是否正确。

2、帮助学生建立自觉遵守交通规则的观念,并了解不同国家交通规则的异同。

(二)教学重点分析

1、重点:帮助学生理解句型:In China/the US, drivers drive on the right side of the road. In England and Australia, however, drivers drive on the left side of the road. 2、难点:学生对文化差异的了解:在中国和美国等国家车辆靠右行驶,

但在有些国家车辆靠左行驶,比如说英国、澳大利亚、新加坡等地。

(三)课前准备

教师准备:recorder录音机,pictures课本挂图,traffic lights红、黄、绿三色卡纸制作的交通灯,cards中国、美国、英国、加拿大的卡片,司机的卡片等。

学生准备:book课本,pen笔,exercise book作业本等。

(四)教学步骤:

Step1 Warm up (智慧开课) 1. Greeting

Good afternoon, class! How are you today? Who is on duty today? What’s your topic? (The student on duty gives a daily report.) Very good, thank you.

2. Let’s sing

Now let’s listen to the tape and sing together, OK? (Ss sing the song “How do you go to school?” together.)

Step 2

Preview (复习导入) 1. (Ask individual student how they go to school.)Hello! S1. How do you go to school? S2, How about you?

S3, Do you go to school on foot/by bus? 2. OK. Who go to school on foot, please hands up. Mmm, in our class so many students go to school on foot, then you must be careful, because there are many cars, buses and bikes on the road. Are you clear? So when we cross the road, we must look at the traffic lights,(出示卡片并粘贴到黑板上) and we must remember the traffic rules. Do you remember the traffic rules? What are they? (Ss answer by themselves.) OK, now let’s chant together: Red light, red light . Stop, stop, stop. Yellow light, yellow light. Wait, wait, wait. Green light, green light. Go, go, go.

Step3

Presentation(新课呈现) 1. OK. We’ve known some traffic rules and today we’re going to read a passage about some other traffic rules in different countries. Do you want to know them? OK, today we’re going to learn “Unit 1B let’s read”.(板书课题) First, I want you to listen to the tape and answer three questions: Q1: How many traffic lights are there? Q2: What are they? Q3: What do they mean?

Are you clear? OK, now let’s listen. 2. Listen, answer and teach new words and sentences (Ss listen to the passage.) Do you have the answers?

Q1: How many traffic lights are there?

S1: There are three traffic lights. Yes, you are right. There are 3 traffic lights today/ tomorrow/every day. So there are always three traffic lights. ( 板书句子并教读)

Teach: always (Have Ss read it group by group.) Q2: What are they? S2: They are red, yellow and green. (While S2 answers, put the cards of the lights on the blackboard.)

In china, the traffic lights are red, yellow and green.

In the US, the traffic lights are red, yellow and green.

In England, the traffic lights are red, yellow and green.

In Australia and other countries, the traffic lights are red, yellow and green, too.

So the traffic lights are the same in every country. ( 板书句子并教读)

Teach: the same, every country (Have boys read, then girls read.) Q3: What do they mean?

Ss: Red means “Stop”. Yellow means “Wait”. Green means “Go”. (While Ss answer, write the answers next to the cards.)

Teach: mean 3. I have a nice picture here. Do you want to know what’s in it? (Show Ss the picture.) Look! What does he do?

Ss: He is a driver.

What does he drive? He drives a car.

Teach: driver Drivers drive cars/buses/…on the road. The road has two sides----left and right.

In China, on which side of the road do drivers drive? Do you know?

Teach: In China, drivers drive on the right side of the road. ( 板书句子并教读) Do drivers drive on the right side in every country? Please open your books page 9, read the passage and tell me. OK?

If you find the answer, please hands up. S1 read the answers. Teacher puts the pictures of China, the US, England and Australia on the Bb. Write the answers and teach: In the US, drivers drive on the right side, too. In England and Australia, drivers drive on the left side of the road. ( 板书句子并教读) 4. Chant and play a game (drill left/right)

Now look at me. This is my right/left hand/eye/ear. Please listen, say and do actions with me, OK? First look and listen. Show me you right…. Touch your right/left eye/ear. Now follow me, please. Can you say it? Please say and do together, OK? Ready, go! Now I’d like to ask some Ss to the front and have a competition, who will try? (Two groups have a competition in the front.) 5. Great! Now we’ve learned these traffic rules, then if we drive a car, can we go when the traffic light is red? What must we do? Ss: We must wait.

Can you ride bikes on the left side of the road in China? No, we can’t. We must ride bikes on the right side of the road.

Can we walk in the middle of the road? No, we can’t. We must walk on the right side of the road. That is to say: If you go by car, by bike or on foot, you must know the traffic rules. Are you clear? ( 板书句子并教读) Step4 practice(互动操练) 1. OK, now please read the passage again and finish the “yes”

or “no”

questions below it.

Have you finished them? No.1, who will read it? (Have Ss read the sentences individually and check answers.) 2. Now let’s listen to the tape and read after it. (Have Ss follow the tape and then read by themselves.) Later I’ll ask some of you to read it….Are you ready? OK. Who would like to read it?(Ask several Ss to read the passage.) (学生朗读时老师将黑板上句子中的关键词擦去并画上横线。) Step 5 Consolidation and Extension(巩固拓展) 1. Now please close your books and look at the Bb. Here are some blanks. Can you fill in the blanks? Please write down the answers on your paper. (Check answers). Then have Ss read together. 2. OK, now look at these two pictures on page9. Can you find the differences?

四、规律揭示:

培养学生的阅读能力是小学阶段英语教学的主要目的之一。它可以帮助学生得到乐趣,获取信息,使学生养成良好的英语阅读习惯,具有正确的阅读技巧,拥有主动学习的能力和合作的精神,为终身学习打下基础。因此在小学阶段培养学生的英语阅读能力具有重要意义。在小学开展英语阅读教学活动,根据阅读教学要求,从单词、句子、短文入手,由易到难,循序渐进。而针对不同年龄阶段的学生应采用不同的方法,现在结合本次教学设计具体来谈一谈:

一、内容呈现(presentation) 在这教学过程中,老师引导的重点在于让学生对于对于课文形成一个初步的

整体的概念,吸引学生对于接下来的学习的注意力。主要采用课本挂图,红、黄、绿三色卡纸制作的交通灯,中国、美国、英国、加拿大的卡片,司机的卡片等形式,把故事大概呈现在学生眼前。

二、内容理解

(Comprehension)。

学生在教师的带领下初步理解课文后,

教师用一系列简短的问题如:How many traffic lights are there? What are they? What do they mean? If we drive a car, can we go when the traffic light is red? What must we do? Can you ride bikes on the left side of the road in China? Can we walk in the middle of the road? 等来帮助并且检查学生对于课文的理解程度。

这部分的问题应分为两个层次,首先是较简单的问题,学生可以在文中直接找到答案。如:How many traffic lights are there? What are they? What do they mean?等,学生回答的正确与否直接反映了是否看懂了课文文章。学生在回答问题的同时也重温课文的中心句型。而另一层次的问题,则是要求学生能运用新词和新语言点,结合课文的内容和自己的理解,进行作答如:If we drive a car, can we go when the traffic light is red? What must we do? Can you ride bikes on the left

side of the road in China? Can we walk in the middle of the road?等。在这个阶段,学生可借此进一步加深对文章的理解和印象。

此外,在这一教学过程中教师应给学生充分时间读书,采用不同形式的阅读能有效的帮助学生熟悉和理解课文,如全班跟读,全班齐读,分小组读,自由朗读,分角色读等。

三、巩固(Consolidation) 和活用(Usage)。

巩固和活用是训阅读教学的重要组成部分,它是知识运用的一种反映。在这节课的教学中教师针对教材内容主要运用了填充缺失信息和在两幅画中找不同点等方法。总之围绕课文开展各种形式的活动,使学生活动量扩大,涉及面增广,既培养了学生的阅读能力,巩固旧知,又学会新知,又能结合新旧知识进行语言交际活动。
