I. Teaching aims

1. Knowledge aims

1.To enable the Ss to understand and speak: sunny,rainy,cloudy.snowy,windy.

2.To enable the Ss to understand and use the sentences: What’s the weather like ?--- It’s ____. Let’s_______.

1.To develop Ss’ abilities of listening and speaking.

2.To train the Ss’ ability of working in groups.

3.Emotion aims

1.To lead the Ss to know how wear suitable clothing. II. Key-points & Difficult points.

Key points:

1.Help Ss master the words:sunny,rainy,cloudy.snowy,windy. 2.Help Ss ask and answer the question:

What’s the weather like ?--- It’s ____. Let’s_______..

3.To develop Ss’ interest in English. Difficult points: 1.To help the Ss with the pronunciation in the word “chopsticks”.

2.To help the Ss ask and answer the question “Would you like some…? Yes, please. ”and make sure they can use them in daily life.

III. Teaching methods

It has only been a short period since English became a subject in our primary school. Our boys and girls are exposed to English for the first time, so it is very important to develop their interest in

English. I’ll mainly use “TPR” teaching method and chant in this lesson. I will create situations and help the Ss practice key structures and dialogue. I will arrange four kinds of activities: singing , making a salad and having a competition

IV. Teaching procedures and purposes of my design.

I’ll finish this lesson in four steps. Step 1. Warm-up and preview

1. Greet with the Ss .

2.Create a situation---“Doraemon’s trip”. Put the Ss into 2 groups. Boys are “Da Xiong”. Girls are “Jing Xiang”. And tell Ss if they can pass Doraemon’s exam , they can have a trip with Doraemon.

Purpose: It is important to create an English learning

environment. For the next step, I’ll provide the Ss situations where they can review learned knowledge.

Step 2. Presentation

1.Stage One : Guess Guess Guess.

2. Stage Two: Review the words and phrases .

3.Stage Three: Practice

Game One : Ask the weather

Game Two: Follow the Rhythm.

Game Three: Guess the weather.

4.Let’s have a wonderful trip.

5.Present a map of China . And present different places of China. Ask the Ss to practice sentences : What’s the weather like in ______ ? --- It’s _______. Let’s _____.

6.Divide Ss into groups of four .

7.Making an activity: Which group is the best tour guide.

8. Create a situation : Which team is the best tour guides ?

9.Members can get one point after they got correct answer. And see which group can get more points.

Purpose: By using the Role--play,

Ss will grasp the sentences

in Role--Play and have a easier time remembering. Step 3. Practice & Consolidation

1.Divide Ss into groups of four .

2.Making an activity: Which group is the best tour guide.

3. Present a map of the world . And present different places of World.. Ask the Ss to practice sentences : What’s the weather like in ______ ? --- It’s _______. Let’s _______.

4.Create a situation : Which team is the best tour guides ?

5..Members can get one point after they got correct answer. And see which group can get more points.
