Period 1 Warming up & Reading Ⅰ. Teaching goals 1. To learn about English non-verbal humour. 2. To develop Ss’ some basic reading skills. 3. To arouse Ss’ interest in learning about Charlie Chaplin, a famous actor.

1.How many kinds of humour do you know? Clown, sketch, joke, funny story, cross talk, Nonverbal mime etc 2.What’s the meaning of Nonverbal mime? Use body language to make people fun. 3.Do you know Charlie Chaplin? He is one of the most famous humorists that can make others laugh all the time.
