Reading Of Unit 5 From Book 9

Good moring,everyone! Today I’m very pleased to have an opportunity to share some of my teaching ideas. My topic is taken from Reading of Unit 5 in Book9.I have prepared four parts for it.

Part 1

My understanding of this lesson

1.The analysis of the teaching material: This lesson is a reading passage. It plays a very important part in the teaching of this unit. The reading passage is about the inside advertising.That’s to say,it’s advertising notes.So it deals with what they saw and heard about. By studying it, students can improve their reading ability; learn more about inside advertising scenary,multiculture and so on.At the same time, we should get the students to understand some difficult sentences to comprehend the passage better. The Ss should do some listening, speaking and writing, too. Of course, the Ss can learn how to express position and direction. Some moral education is also necessary. 2.Teaching aims:

1). Knowledge aim: Understand the main idea of the text. 2). Ability aims:A:Retell the ways of the inside advertising and express inside advertising.

Part 2

My understanding of difficulties with Ss

1. They are lack of scientific reading skills. 2. They don’t often use English to express themselves and communicate with others.

3. Some Ss are not active in the class because their interest has not been aroused.

My teaching theories, methods and aids

Teaching theories:

Before dealing with this lesson, I’ll try to carry out the following theories: Make the Ss the real masters in class while the teacher acts as the director；

Combine the language structures with the language functions; Let the students receive some moral education while they are learning the language.

About learning theories and instructions

During the class, I’ll also carry out the following learning theories: Reading is a cycling procedure of prediction,checking, correction, and again prediction. Reading skills only can be mastered after practice and practice；Ss tend to have an open mind to the outside world

Learning instructions

1).Preview and review. 2).materials collected before class to arouse the Ss’interest.For example,pictures. 3). Encourage the Ss to be active by getting them to compete among themselves. Part4.

Teaching procedures

I have designed the following steps.

Step1.Greetings :Greet the whole class as usual.

Step 2.

Revision

1. Ask students some questions to revise the last lesson 2. Check the homework. Through this part we can consolidate what they studied the day before. Step 3. Lead-in and preparation for reading Show them some pictures and get them to predict the main idea ot the text.Meanwhile, introduce the reading skill - prediction .

Step 4. Fast reading:Get the Ss to read the passage quickly with some questions,whose answers are easy to find in the text. Then check the answers.Purpose:to help the Ss master the reading skill-skimming. Step 5. Listening

:Play the tape to gain the general idea again.Get the Ss to pay special attention to the inside advertising. Step 6. Intensive reading:Explain details of the text and some important language points. Step 7. Discussion

:An open topic:What Chinese cities do you think most people would like to enjoy inside advertising?Why?

Consolidation:Review what the Ss have learned today Step 9.
