Learning about language: Grammar 整体设计

教材分析

This is the third teaching period of this unit. To test whether students have grasped the important and difficult language points they learned in the last period, the teacher should first offer them some revision exercises. Then lead in the new lesson. This teaching period mainly deals with the language points:

approximate,

fascinate, rather than, while,

as well as, urge sb. to do sth. / urge sb. On,

even though/even if,

accomplish,

1. approximate

approximate adj. 大概的；近似的

You have to pay approximate 100 dollars. 你得支付大约100美元。

2．fascinate vt. 使着迷；入迷

What the expert said fascinated the present listeners.

专家的话使在场的听众入了迷。

While these activities might seem childish and cause laughter rather than respect, in reality they require an enormous amount of strength and fitness as well as determination. 1) while 用作连词, 意为“虽然, 尽管”,引导让步状语从句。
